About Stichting IRMA Europe
Stichting IRMA Europe aims to support and promote more responsible mining practices that respect human rights and the environment, by creating value for greater accountability and transparency in the mining sector. Improving mine practices serves a world that relies on mined materials to support renewable energy and to respond to climate stresses, as well as materials for products society uses everyday—phones, buildings, jewelry, cars, laptops and more.

Stichting IRMA Europe shares the mission of the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA): mining that respects human rights and the environment. IRMA’s standard is independently audited and used by mines, affected communities and Indigenous rights holders, labor unions, NGOs, purchasers, and the finance sector worldwide. The foundation, established under Dutch law with its own board, supports and extends that work.
